Terms of Service
Last updated: February 9, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PipBot, the Discord bot, and the website pipbot.app (together, the "Service"), operated by Matty Hempstead ("we", "us", "our").
By inviting PipBot to a Discord server, using its commands, or accessing pipbot.app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to use Discord and capable of complying with these Terms and applicable laws. If you use the Service on behalf of a Discord server, community, or organization, you represent that you have the authority to do so.
2. Relationship to Discord
PipBot is an independent, third-party service that operates on the Discord platform. Use of Discord itself is governed by Discord's own terms and policies.
We are not affiliated with Discord and are not responsible for Discord's services, moderation decisions, outages, or platform changes.
3. The Service
PipBot provides automated functionality within Discord servers, including responding to commands, utilities, automations, and other bot-based features.
The Service may change over time. We may add, modify, limit, or remove features at any time without guarantee of continued availability of any specific feature.
4. Server administrators and permissions
Server administrators and users with appropriate permissions are responsible for:
- Granting PipBot the permissions it needs
- Choosing which channels the bot may access
- Informing server members that PipBot is active in the server
You agree not to attempt to bypass Discord's permission system or use the Service in a way that violates Discord rules or applicable law.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any law or regulation
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm others
- Spam, scam, phish, or distribute malware
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
6. User content
You are responsible for any content you submit or make available through Discord while using PipBot.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely as necessary to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Respond to commands and requests
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Debug, monitor, and improve the Service
We do not sell user data and do not use user content to train AI models.
7. AI-generated output
Some features may generate automated or AI-assisted output.
You acknowledge that:
- Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate
- You are responsible for how you use any output
- The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice
You should independently verify any information before relying on it.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its code, branding, design, and functionality, is owned by Matty Hempstead or licensed to us.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission, except as allowed by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing PipBot from your Discord server or discontinuing use of the website.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if necessary to:
- Enforce these Terms
- Comply with legal or platform requirements
- Protect the Service, users, or the public
Termination does not limit any rights or remedies we may have under law.
10. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
If liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum amount required by applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Matty Hempstead from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your content
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
